Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the distinguished chair in psychology in the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is often credited for initiating the contemporary scientific study of children's memories of eyewitnesses and children's victimes as witness in legal situations. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer, has won many awards and grants. She has collaborated with numerous governments and organizations all over the world to conduct studies and policy issues pertaining to children who have been people who are victims of the law. She serves as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is also a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Practice and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman is a member of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a Founding Member of the International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has served as president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division, as well as three Divisions: Children and Families Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
